Arkansas State Police say a Missouri woman was killed in a Saturday motorcycle accident in Newton County.
Tanya Marie Humphrey, 54, of Jefferson City, Mo., was the passenger on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when the driver lost control in a curve on Arkansas 16 near Jasper and overturned, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police accident report. It happened at 2:35 p.m. about 4.5 miles west of Arkansas 7, the report states.
The motorcycle’s driver was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville; his condition was not released.
The weather was clear and the road dry at the time of the wreck, authorities said.
Humphrey’s death marked the 330th on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to state police figures.
