One woman was killed and five people were injured in an Independence County crash Saturday.
A 16-year-old driver heading north on Watson Road crossed the centerline about 12:10 p.m. and hit a southbound sport utility vehicle driven by Brenda Jackson, 63, of Sulphur Rock, an Arkansas State Police report states.
Jackson died from injuries suffered in the crash, state police said. Three passengers in her vehicle, the teenager and one of his passengers were injured and were taken to White River Medical Center in Batesville, according to the report. Their conditions weren’t immediately available.
Weather conditions were clear and the road was dry when the accident occurred, according to the report.
Jackson's death marked the 329th on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to state police figures.
