A Little Rock apartment was damaged Tuesday morning after a fire started in a couch, firefighters say.

Little Rock Fire Department Capt. Randy Hickmon said a couch caught fire about 10:30 a.m. in an apartment in building 10 of Watergate Apartments at 8101 Cantrell Road.

Hickmon said the fire produced a lot of smoke, but no one was injured.

“There was not a lot of fire,” he said. "We don't know what caused it yet, but we have an inspector on the way."

Firefighters were still on the scene as of 11 a.m.

Hickmon said only one apartment was damaged in the fire. He was unsure of the apartment number or the cost of the damage.
