Thunderstorms in forecast for Thursday

A few thunderstorms are possible in Arkansas on Wednesday, but a cold front entering the state Thursday is much more likely to bring severe weather, forecasters said Tuesday.

Severe weather will be possible Thursday afternoon and evening and could continue after midnight in the eastern part of the state, National Weather Service warning coordination meteorologist John Robinson said in an emailed statement.

“Pretty much the entire state will see some chance of severe weather,” he said.

Damaging wind gusts are more likely than large hail, and rainfall totals are expected to range between 3/4 inch to 1 1/2 inches in most places, Robinson added.
