Blytheville man found shot, dies

BLYTHEVILLE -- Police are investigating the death of a Blytheville man found shot in the street in the Mississippi County town, said Capt. Scott Adams, the commander of the Blytheville Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division.

Police were called to the 700 block of South Lake Street in central Blytheville at 12:33 p.m. Thursday and found Lawless Kennedy, 49, in the street with a gunshot wound, Adams said.

He was taken to Great River Medical Center in Blytheville, where he died.

Detectives spoke with neighbors and "obtained information," but no arrest had been made as of Thursday evening, Adams said.

Lawless' body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock, he said.
