An officer and a man sought by police are being treated for minor injuries after being hit by a North Little Rock police patrol car Wednesday, police say.

The officer was chasing the man on foot about 4:09 p.m. near 700 W. 24th St., North Little Rock Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brian Dedrick said in a news release.

Another officer in a patrol unit came to assist the police officer who was on foot and struck both the officer and the man, Dedrick said.

The officer was transported to UAMS Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the release states.

The man said during a police interview that he was also hit by the patrol car and was transported to UAMS Medical Center for treatment of injuries that are non-life-threatening.

Authorities have not released the officer's or the man's identity or the reason he was being sought by police.
