The Logan County sheriff's office was interviewing three people Tuesday in the shooting death of a man last week in his rural Logan County home, Prosecuting Attorney Tom Tatum II said Tuesday.

Tatum said a man he identified as Richie Lynch -- whose age was unavailable -- was shot at least once just outside his home north of Booneville, possibly on Thursday or Friday. The man's son found the body Monday morning after family became worried because they had not heard from him in days.

The body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Little Rock on Monday for autopsy, Tatum said.

A daughter was the last to speak to Lynch by phone on Thursday, Tatum said. During that conversation, the man told his daughter that he was at Wal-Mart. Investigators planned to review security video at the Wal-Mart store in Booneville for clues, he said.

Three people, one of them a woman, were arrested in Polk County on Tuesday on charges unrelated to the shooting, Tatum said. He would not say how authorities think they may be connected with Lynch's death.

There were no witnesses to the shooting, he said.

Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said Tuesday that Logan County had requested state police assistance with the crime scene investigation.

Logan County Sheriff Boyd Hicks did not return calls from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette on Tuesday for information on Lynch's death.

Tatum said it could be the end of the week before he is ready to file any charges in the case.
