Mountain Top Cowboy Church Community Horse Show announces 2015 season opening

— The first Mountain Top Cowboy Church Community Horse Show of the 2015 season will be held April 11 at 45 Heber Springs Road W., at Arkansas 5 and 25. Registration will close at 4:30 p.m., and the show will begin at 5 p.m. The arena is a family-friendly environment, and four age divisions are available for a variety of events. There are no registration fees.

The goal of the horse show is to give families and equine lovers of all ages and experience levels a place to go, grow, fellowship, learn and compete.

The shows are held the first Saturday of each month through September unless the date falls on a holiday weekend. Other scheduled shows for the season are May 2, June 6, July 11, Aug. 1 and Sept. 12. Rain or award dates are set for Sept. 26 and Oct. 3. End-of-the-year awards are given.

Age divisions include Pewee, 10 and younger; Buckaroo, 13 and younger; Junior, 14-18; and Senior, 19 and older.

Events include Halter Showmanship, Peewee; Walk/Trot, Peewee; Horsemanship,

Buckaroo/Junior/Senior;

Keyhole Race; Golf Ball Drop; Flags; Pole Bending; Speed; and Barrels.

A negative Coggins test is required and will be checked.

Long or short sleeves are required for contestants (no tank or sleeveless tops). Boots are required, but hats are optional.

Free concessions will be provided, and no alcohol will be permitted on the grounds.
