The unidentified officer -- whose injuries were not life-threatening -- was transported to UAMS Medical Center, Dedrick said.

Police said the man, who was also not identified, advised police he was hit by the patrol unit, too, and was transported to UAMS Medical Center. His injuries were also not life-threatening.

The accident occurred about 4:10 p.m. at the intersection of West 24th Street and Railroad Avenue, Dedrick said. Police said an officer attempted to make contact with the man before the foot pursuit began. The officer and man were struck by the patrol car while the officer in the car was attempting to assist the officer on foot.

Police didn't disclose the reason why the man was being sought.

The purse snatcher is described as a 5-foot-2, 180-pound black man age 25 to 35.

LR dad dropped infant, police say

A Little Rock man was arrested Tuesday afternoon, accused of dropping his infant daughter onto a hard surface while caring for her, police said.

Maceo Rashaad Abraham, 20, of 8701 Interstate 30 Apartment 162 was arrested at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday and charged with first-degree domestic battery, according to an arrest report.

According to a report, Abraham originally told officers his 7-month-old daughter had fallen from a couch March 21. The infant suffered a broken right arm and two brain hemorrhages.

Abraham later admitted to smoking marijuana and taking Xanax while being responsible for his daughter, police said.
