2 MACARONI A creamy, kid-friendly comfort food takes the spotlight at Mac ’N’ Cheez Mania, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at War Memorial Stadium/AT&T Field in Little Rock. Professional, amateur and kid cooks will whip up cheesy batches for the cook-off while guests are welcome to listen to music and visit the various booths and play areas. 3 MASTERWORKS The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra closes out the 2014-2015 season with Mozart, Prokofiev and Strauss, 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Maumelle Performing Arts Center, 100 Victory Lane, Maumelle. Part of the Stella Boyle Smith Masterworks Series, the performance will be conducted by Philip Mann and will feature pianist Yeol Eum Son on Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major, Op.26. 4 MASTERPIECES The creative works of black artists will fill the Arkansas Arts Center’s Jeanette Edris Rockefeller and Townsend Wolfe galleries for “30 Americans,” Friday-June 21. The collection features work from the last 40 years by artists including Barkley L. Hendricks, Robert Colescott and Sinique Smith. Arkansas artist Marjorie Smith will speak about the exhibit as part of the Feed Your Mind Friday Series, noon Friday. On Sunday, families can get a more hands-on experience with the exhibit through Super Sunday Free Family Fundays, noon-3 p.m. Friday also marks the start of “AAC Collection: Art as Activism,” which continues through April 26. 5 MARKET Everything old is new again — or at least remade into something totally different — at the South Main Vintage Market. This is the third year for the monthly market at Bernice Garden, 1401 S. Main St., Little Rock, where vendors sell items that must be at least 20 years old, or made from vintage components. The market is open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. the second Saturday of the month through October. Stop back by the garden for opening day of the Bernice Garden Farmers Market, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday. 6 MS Walkers and strollers will converge on the River Market for Walk MS: Central Arkansas on Saturday. There are one-mile and 5K options and the event is open to all ages and abilities. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the start time is 10. Registration is free but participants are encouraged to raise pledges and donations for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. 7 MARCH Take to the stairs and take on a vertical challenge in the Fight for Air Climb on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium/ AT&T Field. The American Lung Association fundraiser is, basically, a “vertical road race,” with teams and individuals walking, running or leaping up steps at the stadium. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. with the climb starting at 8:30. Registration is $25 and participants are required to raise at least $100 in donations. 8 MESSAGE A story of persecution and resistance will be played out on The Weekend Theater stage as the company presents the premiere of Karski’s Message. Written by local playwright, lawyer and historian Phillip McMath, the play tells the story of Polish resistance fighter Jan Karski, who witnessed and tried to bring attention to the Jewish Holocaust during World War II. 9 MILITARY The Jacksonville Museum of Military History pays tribute to those who served with music, ceremonies and exhibits at the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday. The event will also feature the presentation of The Last Days in Vietnam documentary. 10 MIXTURE The city of Jacksonville will be pulsing with excitement and activity with two big events taking place Saturday: The Jacksonville Community Center, 5 Municipal Drive in Jacksonville, is 20 years old and, to celebrate, the center is hosting a party with children’s activities, free fitness classes and refreshments, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Call (501) 982-4171.
