2 killed in separate crashes

A Texas man was killed in a head-on collision Friday morning in Miller County, Arkansas State Police said.

James Ogburn, 71, of Atlanta, Texas, was driving east on Miller County Road 73 in a 1998 Escort when his vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a westbound 2007 Dodge Ram, state police said. The wreck occurred at 7:58 a.m. Friday.

Ogburn was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:30 a.m., state police reported.

The driver of the Dodge, Bobby Garren, 42, of Doddridge was injured and transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas, according to state police.

Also Friday, state police reported a Proctor man died from injuries suffered in a Thursday evening crash.

Ryan Dunn, 23, of Proctor was traveling west on Broadway Avenue in West Memphis on a Honda motorcycle, state police said, when a 2002 Jeep traveling east on Broadway Avenue made a left-hand turn. The motorcycle failed to yield and struck the Jeep.

The collision occurred at 8:10 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Broadway Avenue with Arkansas 118, state police reported.

The driver of the Jeep, Edward Gardner, 35, of Hughes was not injured, according to state police.

Conditions were clear and the roads were dry at the time of both wrecks, state police said.
