HOT SPRINGS — Garland County Library will celebrate National Library Week, with the theme “Unlimited Possibilities at Your Library,” today through Saturday. A Kindle contest and a patron appreciation social will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday. Library patrons can enter the Kindle contest by writing a short paragraph about the possibilities the library has helped them explore. Shakespeare’s Works Discussion Series

HOT SPRINGS — John Crawford, professor emeritus of Henderson State University, will lead a discussion of Shakespeare’s works from 2-3:30 p.m. Monday at the Garland County Library. The sessions will continue on the second Monday of each month through July. There is no cost except the purchase of a text. Crawford’s essays on Shakespeare’s works have appeared in numerous literary journals, and Crawford has presented papers on Shakespeare in the state and region and at national conferences.

Comic-Con Club Jr.

BRYANT — The Comic-Con Club Jr., a comic and anime club for tweens ages 8-14, will meet from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Mabel Boswell Memorial Library. Participants will sketch, read and watch an anime or comic-based movie. A snack will be provided. Participants may attend in costume.

HOT SPRINGS — The Ouachita Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society will meet at 7 p.m. at the Lamar Bath House. Mary Bell Hill will discuss her book Hot Springs National Park, from Arcadia Publishing’s Images of America Series. Hill will talk about the historic evolution of the park’s bathhouses and the changing face of Bathhouse Row. Les Miserables School Edition

BRYANT — Bryant High School will present a spring production of Les Miserables School Edition at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. April 19 in Love Auditorium at the school. Victor Hugo’s musical, known as Les Miz, is set in early-19th-century France and is the story of Valjean, a French peasant, and his quest for redemption after serving 19 years in prison for having stolen a loaf of bread for his sister’s starving child. When it opened on Broadway in 1987, Les Miz won eight Tony awards. Tickets are $8 at the box office with general admission seating.
