Ozarka College Tour D’Art

MELBOURNE — The fourth annual literary reading and art extravaganza Tour D’Art will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the John E. Miller Education Complex at Ozarka College. The free event is put on by The Friends of the Paul Weaver Library and is open to the public. The reading portion will begin at 6 p.m. in the John E. Miller Auditorium with original and previously published works read by Ozarka College students, faculty and staff, and Friends of the Paul Weaver Library members. Music and refreshments will be available from 6-8 p.m. The exhibit will feature works from local classes, art councils, community members and Friends members.

AnnaMaria Cardinalli Concert

BEEBE — AnnaMaria Cardinalli will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Owen Center Auditorium at Arkansas State University-Beebe as part of the school’s concert series. Cardinalli is a classical and flamenco guitarist, as well as a singer and recording artist. Seating is based on a first-come, first-served system. Tickets are for $10 for adults, and $5 for seniors, students, military members and educators. Tickets will go on sale at 6:30 p.m., and the auditorium will open at 7 p.m.

The Old Paths Concert

Lyon Production of Picnic

BATESVILLE — Lyon College will present Picnic, a play by William Inge, at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Holloway Theatre at Lyon. Picnic won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1953 and is often viewed as a romantic play, while it delves into more serious themes within American culture. The play contains mild language and mature content and may not be suitable for children younger than 13. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and non-Lyon students. Students who present a current Lyon ID will be admitted free.

Playground Construction

VILONIA — Approximately 200 volunteers will construct a new playground in Vilonia from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers will be community members, as well as employees of Kimberly-Clark. An EF4 tornado tore through Vilonia on April 27, 2014, and a year later, Vilonia is still recovering. Saturday’s event will include a kick-off ceremony for the build, the construction phase and a ribbon-cutting.

Pangburn Band Yard Sale Fundraiser

Trap Shooting Event

JACKSONVILLE — The second annual Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Trap Shooting Event will be held April 25 at the Arkansas Game and Fish Sports Shooting Complex, 2800 Graham Road. The Calico Rock Museum Foundation owns the Printing Press, and all proceeds will benefit the museum. The cafe will serve sandwiches, soup, salads, ice cream and other sweets. Main Street Batesville Art Walk

BATESVILLE — A Main Street Batesville Art Walk will be held from 5-7 p.m. May 2 on Main Street. The event offers an evening of art, music and refreshments, and an opportunity to meet local area artists and hear them discuss their work.

All Rise Century Bicycle Ride

BATESVILLE — The White River Medical Center Cycling Club in Batesville will sponsor the sixth annual All Rise Century Bicycle Ride at 8 a.m. May 9, beginning at Jubilee Family Church, 45 Thunderbird Drive, approximately 2 miles east of the Walmart Supercenter on Arkansas 69. This is an out-and-back ride of any distance, 1 to 100 miles, and riders of all skill levels are welcome. The $20 registration fee includes an event T-shirt, drinks and snacks. BATESVILLE — The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring accounting training from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 14 at Lyon College in the Walker Room. The first course is Quickbooks 101 and will be taught by Rachel Pennywitt, CPA, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The second course is Preparing Your Business for an Audit and will be taught by John Ed Welch, CPA, from 1-3 p.m.

Tommy Bolt Memorial Golf Tournament, Luncheon

CHEROKEE VILLAGE — On May 14, Tommy Bolt Memorial Day in Cherokee Village, a celebration luncheon will be held at Fountain Place, an independent living center, to name the center’s newest building in memory of Bolt. Activities will include tours of the Bolt Memorabilia Room. The 12th annual Tommy Bolt Memorial Golf Tournament will be held June 27. Fulton County Homecoming Festival

SALEM — The 66th annual Fulton County Homecoming Festival will be held May 22 and 23. Festival organizers are accepting vendor applications for the Festival Street Market. Rental fees are $75 for both days or $40 for May 23 only. There is a $10 additional charge for electricity. No commission is charged on sales, and rental fees will not be refunded in case of rain. Booths are 10 feet wide and the depth of a parking space. All food vendors must meet Arkansas Department of Health guidelines. Vendors must meet Arkansas sales-tax regulations.
