Bad Boy 98 washed out

Heavy rain and the forecast for more has forced the cancellation of Bad Boy 98 dirt late model event scheduled for tonight and Saturday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove.

“We had gotten so much rain in here the past day or so, and they were calling for 90 or 100 percent chance for the rest of the weekend,” track promoter Mooney Starr said. “There was just no way.”

The $20,000-to-win event was to be co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Beebe-based Comp Cams Super Dirt Series.

It’s the second national dirt late model event to be cancelled in the state already this year. A World of Outlaws Late Model Series event scheduled to be held at Little Rock’s I-30 Speedway was rained out March 21.
