The strumming, picking, clogging and fiddling start in earnest this weekend as Mountain View hosts the annual Arkansas Folk Festival, today-Sunday. Most of the activities, including planned performances, an artisan market and free admission to the Ozark Folk Center State Park’s Craft Village, are scheduled for Friday-Saturday. 2 FLEETWOOD Their original concert date was canceled due to illness but now it’s “On With the Show,” as the tour is called. Fleetwood Mac is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. Sunday in North Little Rock’s Verizon Arena. Tickets are $52.50-$174 and tickets for the canceled show will be honored. 4 FOOD Shish kebabs, stuffed grape leaves and baklava are on the menu at the Turkish Food Festival, 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Saturday at Raindrop Turkish House, 1501 Market St. In addition to the traditional dishes, the festival includes folk dancing, music, henna tattoos, art and children’s activities. 6 FIDDLER The River City Men’s Chorus takes its audiences to Broadway with its spring concert: Broadway Showcase 2, 3 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday and April 23 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1101 N. Mississippi St. The lineup of songs this time includes a medley from Fiddler on the Roof, “There’s No Business Like Show Business” from Annie Get Your Gun, multiple selections from Wicked and Newsies, and the title song from 42nd Street. 7 FORTE Members of the Knights Chamber Orchestra perform an evening of music from Bartok to Brahms, 7:30 p.m. today in the Clinton Presidential Center Great Hall, 1200 President Clinton Ave. Presented by the Chamber Music Society of Little Rock, the New York quintet will perform Bela Bartok’s First Rhapsody for Cello and Piano; Vardapet Komitas’ Armenian Folk Songs; Max Bruch’s Eight Pieces for Clarinet, Viola and Piano, Op. 83; and Johannes Brahms’ Piano Quartet in g minor, Op. 25. 8 FREEDOM As the Civil War Sesquicentennial draws to a close, the Old State House Museum, 300 W. Markham St., looks back on the war’s end and its ramifications with two special events Saturday. The Arguments for Freedom Living History Event, a living history program about the end of slavery and the 13th Amendment, starts at 11 a.m. From 1-5 p.m., the museum and the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission will present a mini-seminar: “Emancipation and Reconstruction” with discussions and question-and-answer sessions. 9 FuRR Do some shopping and help save some cute kitties at the FuRR Spring Yard Sale, 7 a.m.-dark Friday and 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Kavanaugh Boulevard and Cedar Street. Funds raised from the sale of collectibles, small appliances, furniture, books and more will support Feline Rescue & Rehome’s efforts to rescue, adopt, treat, spay and neuter cats. 10 FILE POWDER The Spa City looks south of the border for the first Hot Springs Gumbo & Crawfish Festival, 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the Hill Wheatley Plaza downtown. Presented by the Spa City Blues Society, the festival includes a gumbo cookoff, crawfish dinner and dancing. Attendees must be 21 or older. Admission is $15 for gumbo, $20 for the crawfish dinner.
