Killer gets 40 years for slaying seen by victim's child, 6

EL DORADO -- An Arkansas man has pleaded guilty in the 2014 killing of a man who witnesses say was killed in front of his 6-year-old daughter.

The El Dorado News-Times reported that Todd Moody pleaded guilty Monday to murder in the first degree in the killing of 37-year-old Titus Edwards.

Moody was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the slaying, as well as additional time for firearm and drug-related charges.

El Dorado police said they responded to a call about a shooting and found Edwards with multiple gunshot wounds, lying on the sidewalk in front of a house. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Court documents said that on the day after the shooting, Moody confessed to killing Edwards. According to authorities, three witnesses said Moody shot Edwards as Edwards' daughter watched from a nearby parked car.
