Les Miserables School Edition

BRYANT — Bryant High School will present Les Miserables School Edition at 2 p.m. in Love Auditorium at the school. Victor Hugo’s musical, known as Les Miz, is set in early-19th-century France and is the story of Valjean, a French peasant, and his quest for redemption after serving 19 years in prison for having stolen a loaf of bread for his sister’s starving child. When it opened on Broadway in 1987, Les Miz won eight Tony awards. General-admission tickets are $8 at the box office.

Jack-n-Back Half Marathon, Run Down Jack 5K

BISMARCK — CHI St. Vincent of Hot Springs will present the second annual Jack-n-Back Half Marathon and the new Run Down Jack 5K addition at 8 a.m. On-site registration and sign-in will begin at 6 a.m. at the Prairie Bayou Church, 19480 Arkansas 84 in Bismarck. Scholarship Fund Luncheon

BENTON — The 14th annual Luncheon on the Courthouse Lawn to support the Saline County Single Parent Scholarship Fund will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 14 at the Saline County Courthouse, 200 N. Main St. Elected officials will be on hand to greet the public. Lunch will include hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, chips, dessert and a drink.
