The festival's lineup of talks, panels, workshops and activities will be held Thursday through Sunday in and around the Central Arkansas Library System's Main Library campus, including the Robinson Theater downtown.

Guest authors from Arkansas include novelist John Hornor Jacobs (The Incorruptibles), novelist Kevin Brockmeier (The Illumination), retired Gen. Wesley K. Clark (Winning Modern Wars), poet Marck L. Beggs (Blind Voices) and comics historian Michael Barrier (Funnybooks: The Improbable Glories of the Best American Comic Books).

Among out-of-state guests: journalist Rick Bragg (Jerry Lee Lewis: His Own Story), children's book illustrator Bryan Collier (Uptown), novelist Karen Joy Fowler (The Jane Austen Book Club), cartoonist and writer Ted Rall (The Year of Loving Dangerously) and Skeptic magazine publisher Michael Shermer (The Science of Good and Evil).

Tickets are $25 in advance, $40 at the door for Waters' talk, and for the festival's "Author! Author!" reception at 7 p.m. Friday at the Main Library. Other events include a used book sale -- Friends of Central Arkansas Libraries preview party, 5-7 p.m. Thursday; book sale Friday through Sunday -- and Arkansas Arts Center's Children's Theatre performance of Chicken Little and the Little Red Hen at 10 a.m. Saturday at Robinson Theater.
