Cedar Hill Road bridge closure extended 4 weeks

Rehabilitation of the Cedar Hill Road bridge in Little Rock between Brookwood Drive and Rebsamen Park Road has been extended through May 18, keeping the bridge closed until then, city officials said Tuesday.

Work was originally scheduled for completion April 13, but a rainy March and extended periods of snow and ice this past winter delayed the project. Township Builders, the contractor responsible for the project, plans to use additional crews to expedite the work and the reopening of the bridge, city officials said.

The barricades, detour signs and a message board on Cantrell Road will remain in place, the city said.

City officials also said Tuesday that they will host a public meeting to discuss plans to reconfigure Riverfront Drive to improve access to the Arkansas River Trail between Cantrell and Rebsamen Park roads. The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Monday in the Gary Green Conference Room of Winrock International, 2101 Riverfront Drive.
