We should be scared

Conservative commentators lament the fact that there are few conservative professors on university campuses. There is a reason for that. I think you would be hard-pressed to find a university professor who does not believe that global warming is real and man-made.

If you say global warming is a hoax, you may not be dumb, but you refuse to face reality. Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists worldwide believe that the build-up of CO2 in our atmosphere is from the burning of fossil fuels.

We have to trust our scientists. It is unwise to trust the 3 percent.

It is peer-reviewed, and I believe settled, science that the burning of fossil fuels increases CO2 in our atmosphere and causes global warming, resulting in the climate change we are witnessing. Arctic ice and glaciers are melting. Soon the permafrost will melt, releasing untold billions of tons of methane gas, which has 20-25 times the global-warming potential of CO2, into the atmosphere.

We are rapidly approaching a tipping point at which global warming becomes unstoppable. That is called catastrophic global warming.

This should scare you. God is not in charge; we are. If this were an approaching alien fleet bent on our destruction, the earth would mobilize all its resources to meet the threat. This threat, however, is insidious. You can't see it coming, and some don't believe it.

What we are doing is beyond stupid; it is insane. Study catastrophic global warming. Then cry havoc and prepare for battle!

How are Barack Obama and Doonesbury so much alike? Answer: Senseless, delusional, absurd, irrational, frivolous, inane and boring. Finally, no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
