Jacksonville man attacked, stabbed

A Jacksonville man was jumped by four men and stabbed at an apartment complex Sunday, police reported.

One suspect is in custody after he turned himself in early Monday.

Aaron Smith Sr. told police four men attacked him in an apartment at Willowbend Apartments, 300 Marshall Road in Jacksonville. Smith was stabbed twice in the abdomen and transported to North Metro Medical Center.

Taquisha Phillips, who was present at the time of the attack, told police that each of the four men hit her and pushed her into a window, shattering it.

According to the report, Smith was then stabbed outside of the apartment complex, near the office. Phillips told police that Smith was unable to get away because his car tires had been slashed.

Tony Phillips, 24, of Jacksonville turned himself in about 3 a.m. Monday.

He was booked into Pulaski County jail on charges of first-degree battery, third-degree battery and two counts of first-degree criminal mischief.

Phillips remained on the jail's roster later Monday, and his bail had not been set.

1 held after shots fired at LR house

A man fired shots at a Little Rock house Sunday after fighting with its residents at a Wal-Mart earlier that day, the Pulaski County sheriff's office reported.

Paul Isom, 32, of Little Rock is accused of firing five or six shots at 1301 W. Dixon Road. Brandon Gray, Jasmine Lightner, a 3-year-old and a 4-year-old were in the home at the time, the report states.

Lightner, 28, told deputies that Isom and Gray had "exchanged words" at Wal-Mart and that Isom had threatened to shoot their house.

About 9 p.m., she and Gray, 27, heard shots outside their house, Lightner said. According to the report, they saw Isom, carrying a shotgun, get into a black Ford Taurus and flee.

A couple of hours later, deputies tracked Isom's phone to 200 T. P. White Drive in Jacksonville, where they arrested him.

Isom was booked into Pulaski County jail on a charge of terroristic act. His bail was set at $2,500.

He remained on the jail's roster Monday.

Stickup reported at LR trailer park

Police were investigating an armed holdup Sunday in a Little Rock mobile home park.

Officers responded about 1:15 a.m. to Southern Pines Mobile Home Park at 9500 S. Heights Road. Modesto Vela-Pacheco, 47, said he'd been taking a phone charger from his vehicle when a man put a gun to the back of his head, according to a police report.

The man searched Vela-Pacheco's pockets, but didn't take anything.

The suspect -- described as black, 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds -- fled to a blue Chevrolet Tahoe and drove away with two other men, the report states.

No injuries were reported.

Police searched the area but made no arrests.

Records show that since May 2013, police have responded to 34 criminal incidents at the 36-acre mobile home park off Baseline Road south of Interstate 30.

Sunday's holdup was the 11th reported in that time.

There were 20 burglaries, two auto thefts and one battery reported at the property.

Bike theft deterred by pepper spray

A man pulled out a bottle of pepper spray and sent two robbers running after they tried to take his bicycle Sunday in Little Rock, police reported.

Charles Gates, 49, said he'd been traveling on Geyer Springs Road near Hinkson Road when two men approached him about 4:30 p.m. and said they were going to take his bike, according to a police report. Gates ignored the men until they began wrapping their fists with T-shirts, apparently preparing to attack him.

The men ran when Gates pulled out pepper spray, the report states.

No injuries were reported.

Police searched the area but made no arrests.

The suspects are described only as black and between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8. One of them appeared to be between 17 and 20 years old.

Robbery reported while fueling auto

Police received conflicting information Sunday on a reported robbery outside a Sam's Club store in Little Rock.

Officers responded at 8:23 a.m. to the store at 1200 S. Shackleford Road. Thomas Van Pelt, 23, said he'd been pumping gas about 30 minutes earlier when a man with a gun approached him from behind, according to a police report. Van Pelt told officers that the robber took his cellphone and wallet and fled in a white Chevrolet truck.

No injuries were report.

Officers spoke to a Sam's Club employee who said Van Pelt couldn't have been purchasing gas when the robbery occurred because the pumps aren't turned on until 9 a.m., the report states.

Officers searched the area but made no arrests.

Van Pelt described the robber as white, 5-foot-11, 215 pounds and between ages of 25 and 35.

Driver chases down motorist, robs her

A man driving a red 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe chased another driver into a Dollar General store parking lot and robbed her Saturday in Little Rock, according to police.

Officers responded about 12:10 p.m. to the store at 4748 Springer Blvd., where Erma Dadmon, 52, said she'd pulled over after a screaming man chased her and tried to force her off the road. Dadmon said the man followed her into the parking lot, opened her passenger door and took her wallet before fleeing, a police report states.

Police interviewed two witnesses in the parking lot who said the man had also tried to run their Scion XD off the road.

Marvin Wilson Jr., 27 and Ashley Donatelli, 27, said the man had been pursuing them until he went after Dadmon, according to the report.

They told officers they followed the man so they could report him to police.

Officers noted the Tahoe's license plate number in an police report. The vehicle is registered to a Little Rock man.

An investigation is ongoing.

2 with gun took car,man tells LR police

Police were seeking two suspects in a Little Rock carjacking Saturday morning.

Officers responded at 5:51 a.m. to a gas station at 6201 Colonel Glenn Road. Fletcher Ryhan, 41, said he'd walked more than 2 miles from South Woodrow Street and Asher Avenue, where two men had approached his Nissan Altima at a stoplight and held him at gunpoint, according to a police report.

Fletcher said the men ordered him out of his car and drove away.

The suspects were both described as black, 5-foot-10, 160 pounds and between the ages of 25 and 30.

No arrests had been made late Monday.

Hit, robbed in LR, pizza deliverer says

A pizza delivery driver was attacked and robbed at gunpoint Saturday in Little Rock, police reported.

Pizza Hut employee Ernest Amsler, 58, called police about 1:02 p.m. after a delivery to a residence at 1904 Boyce St., according to a police report. Amsler said a black man between the ages of 16 and 18 led him behind the home, where another black teen struck him in the head and pointed a gun at him.

The suspects fled on foot with $87.09 worth of food, according to the report.

No injuries were reported.

Police searched the area but made no arrests.
