Officers are searching for two people who purportedly stole property from outside an Austin residence Saturday afternoon.

A Pershing Street resident told officers that property was missing after a "suspicious" male and female were taking photographs and asking neighbors about residences in the area about 4:45 p.m., Austin Police Department Chief Jim Kulesa said in a news release.

The thieves are described as a white woman with long, curly dark hair and tattoos and a bald white man with a goatee. Witnesses told officers they were driving a dark or black Hyundai Santa Fe sports utility vehicle, Kulesa said.

Anyone with any information about the people or the theft should contact the Austin Police Department at (501) 941-2648.
