Little Rock police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon drive-by shooting that left one man injured.

About 3:12 p.m., two black men driving eastbound on 19th Street shot at residents outside 1813 Valentine St., Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Michael Ford said.

The men fired approximately four times, and one gunshot grazed a Valentine Street resident on his shoulder, Ford said.

The man was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries. Ford said there were children inside the home at the time of the shooting who were not injured.

The shooters were driving a black or dark-colored sport utility vehicle, Ford said.

The victim's neighbor Tony Walker, 21, had just returned to their home on Valentine Street after picking his children up from school when the drive-by shooting occurred.

Walker said he talked to the victim just moments before the shooting. Walker went through his back door when he heard gunshots, he said.

Walker and his wife, Simone, said the neighborhood is "usually quiet" and that there are normally children playing outside.

The victim's house sits just half a block away from Stephens Elementary School at 3700 W. 18th St.
