Lanes to be closed for work on I-30

Some lanes on Interstate 30 in Saline County will be shut down Monday night through the morning of May 2 by the state Highway and Transportation Department so crews can work on the roads.

Crews will begin by patching concrete and strengthening the inside shoulder of I-30 westbound. This will allow them to install a temporary concrete barrier wall. Once it's installed, crews will begin reconstructing 2.9 miles of the outside westbound lane of I-30. The work will extend west from U.S. 70 to near the Old Military Road to the U.S. 67 overpass, mile markers 111 through 108.

The lane closures will be from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. each day, weather permitting.

Weaver-Bailey Contractors Inc. of El Paso in White County was awarded the contract at $11,836,454.19. The project should be completed in early 2016.
