A sport utility vehicle overturned on Interstate 630 on Monday, snarling traffic during a rainy morning rush hour.
The SUV came to rest on its top in the far-right lane between Mississippi Avenue and University Avenue exits about 7:30 a.m., stopping traffic completely for a time and later restricting it to only the two left-hand lanes.
Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said the SUV and another vehicle were attempting to merge into the center lane from opposite sides.
"The SUV driver swerved back to the inside lane, lost control of the vehicle, struck the median retaining wall which caused the SUV to roll onto its side, then onto is roof," Sadler said in an email.
No one was seriously injured.
Traffic quickly backed up all the way to Interstate 430 and remained slow for some time while crews cleared the scene.
