Cape Cod cottage

Contradictory evidence, blurred truth and fragmented memories collide in a cottage on the windswept shores of Cape Cod as Rogers Little Theater stages The Other Place by Sharr White in a dinner theater setting at 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and May 8-9 and 2 p.m. Sunday and May 10 at the Victory Theater, 116 S. Second St, Rogers.

Percussion concert

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Percussion Ensemble will perform on more than 60 instruments at 7:30 p.m. today in the University Theatre, Center for Performing Arts, UALR, 2801 S. University Ave., Little Rock.

The program includes Bahrah for percussion quartet by Brandon Hendrix; Sands of Africa by Eric Harper; the Prelude No. 20 by Frederic Chopin, transcribed by Kevin Lepper; "Bella" by Carlos Santana, arranged for mallets by Oliver Molina; an arrangement by Lisa Rogers of the traditional tune "Trinidad Blue Basin"; and John Cage's Third Construction for Percussion. Ensemble founder Charles Law conducts.

Suit up

The fourth annual Seersucker Social takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Old State House Museum, 300 W. Markham St., Little Rock. Tickets are $40. Attendees are invited to wear their best Southern spring attire (seersucker not required) to the event, which features hors d'oeuvres, lawn games, music from the Big Steel River Band and mint juleps.

All proceeds from the social, the signature event of the Old State House 1836 Club, benefit the School Bus Fund, which totes students from all over Arkansas to the museum.
