Knife-wielder said to steal car, $425

Police were investigating a carjacking Sunday in southwest Little Rock.

Corneoleo Vazquez, 22, told officers that a man with a knife had approached his vehicle about 12:05 a.m. at Asher and and South University avenues, according to a police report. Vazquez said the robber took his gray 2008 Pontiac G6, which he'd bought three months before and hadn't registered. He also took $425 from Vazquez.

No injuries were reported.

The robber is described as black, 5-foot-5 and 180 pounds. He wore black clothing and black shoes.

No arrests had been made Monday.

Man working on car held up at gunpoint

A man working on his car in the backyard of his Little Rock home was held at gunpoint Sunday, police reported.

Officers responded about 11:22 p.m. to a residence at 1309 Cumberland St. Billy Jawarski, 41, said a man with a revolver had approached him and demanded money, according to a police report. Jawarski gave the man his wallet but told officers he didn't know whether the robber took anything.

The robber fled in a '90s model Nissan Maxima or Altima, which Jawarski followed to East Ninth Street and Interstate 30, according to the report. Jawarski told police the vehicle had Missouri tags and was driven erratically through red lights and stop signs.

The robber is described as black, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He wore a red T-shirt and blue shorts.

Jawarski also told police that a gold-colored Toyota Camry with Missouri tags had possibly been traveling with the robber.

No arrests had been made Monday.

Woman assaulted, robbed at Days Inn

A woman was attacked and robbed by an intruder at a Little Rock hotel Saturday, police reported.

Officers responded about 7:42 a.m. to Days Inn at 901 Fair Park Blvd. south of Interstate 630. Victoria Rhynes, 21, of Memphis said she'd been expecting her boyfriend when she heard a knock at the door, according to a police report. When she opened the door, a man forced his way inside the room, held her on the bed and demanded money.

The man took Rhynes' purse and cellphone and threatened to kill her if she followed him, according to the report.

Rhynes ran after the robber and tried to follow his vehicle, but she lost sight of him.

She refused medical treatment at the scene.

The robber is described as black, 5-foot-7 and 170 pounds. He wore a black button-down shirt, light bluejeans and black dress shoes. The robber's vehicle is described as a blue four-door Ford.

Saturday's robbery was the fifth reported at the hotel in the past year, according to police reports.

Shake Weight used to slug, rob woman

A man attacked a woman with a Shake Weight and robbed her at a Little Rock hotel Saturday, according to police.

Officers were called to Value Place at 21 Remington Drive about 1:05 a.m. Patricia Frantz, 54, said she'd returned to her room with a man she'd met at a nearby hotel, a police report states. She said the man picked up a Shake Weight -- an oscillating dumbbell that weighs between 2.5 and 5 pounds -- and struck her in the head.

The robber took $200 from her and fled, the report states.

Frantz received medical treatment at the scene.

The robber is described as black, 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds.

No arrests had been made Monday.
