Where I live: East Rogers
Occupation: Director of digital media at Fellowship Bible Church and blogger at bigpittstop.com.
My favorite space is: the worn end of a well-loved red couch. It was my first "big girl purchase."
Why? It's my "place" at home. It's the place where I literally kick up my heels, stretch out from a long day and take in whatever is in front of me, even if it's a bowl of leftovers. I watch my favorite TV shows, use it as a home office to write, and sit on Saturday mornings with a cup of coffee and my current Bible study. It's where I'm learning to experience "Sabbath." It's the place I gather friends when we talk about relationships or eat munchies and catch up on life. From this vantage point, I can see photos of the people that mean the most to me in life and pieces of art I've collected, and recall memories made along the way. It's a view that reminds me that I've surrounded myself with items that tell stories and can reminisce on my full life. Its the place I can cry, laugh, be quiet, sing -- just be me.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Change out the floor rug. I also secretly wish the other end of it was a chaise lounge or that the coffee table was lower and cushioned instead of having hard edges.
