Police investigate shooting as murder-suicide

Authorities are investigating a Little Rock shooting that left a man and a woman dead as a murder-suicide, police say.

Officers responded about 3:55 a.m. Saturday to a residence on Glendale Drive and found on the bathroom floor Donna Galvin, 54, suffering from gunshot wounds and David Galvin, 58, dead from “an apparent self-inflicted gunshot” to the head, Little Rock police spokesman Lt. Steven McClanahan said.

Donna Galvin was transported to CHI St. Vincent Infirmary where she died from her injuries.

Donna Galvin’s mother and 17-year-old son where in the home when the shooting occurred, McClanahan said. After Donna Galvin told her son to call 911, he went to a neighbors house and contacted police. Her mother slept through the shooting.

An investigation is ongoing, McClanahan said.
