FAYETTEVILLE -- Police arrested Friday a man who told a 16-year-old boy he had a gun and demanded money and a necklace, according to a preliminary police report released Saturday.

Justin Lee Larson, 25, of 833 Healing Springs Road in Cave Springs was arrested in connection with aggravated robbery, theft of property and parole violation. He was being held Saturday at the Washington County Detention Center with no bond.

Larson is listed as having a Cave Springs address on the police report, but the Washington County Sheriff's Office shows he lives at 1409 W. Oak St. in Rogers.

A police officer saw Larson running away from a group of people who were chasing him at 10:15 p.m. Friday at Motel 6, located at 2980 N. College Ave., according to the police report.

Larson did not try to stop the officer for help, but a man chasing Larson stopped the officer and said Larson robbed a boy of $80 and a gold necklace, the report shows.

The boy told police Larson came by his motel room and asked him if he wanted to buy any hydrocodone or "oxies," according to the report. The boy said he didn't want any, the boy told police. Then, Larson demanded the boy's money and necklace and said "that he had a gun," according to the report.

Larson said the group was chasing him and trying to fight with him, the report shows. Police found the necklace on Larson and $60 in Larson's wallet, according to the report.

The boy was able to showed police a photo of himself wearing the necklace, the report shows.

Larson denied the robbery, police said.
