Hutchinson announces intent to pardon 7

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson says he intends to grant pardons to seven people.

Hutchinson's office on Tuesday announced his intent to grant the pardons, and said all seven had completed all jail time, fulfilled all parole and probationary requirements and paid all fines related to their sentences. There is a 30-day waiting period to receive public feedback on the notices before final action is taken.

Nearly all of the pardons Hutchinson granted were for drug-related offenses, and his office said there were no law enforcement objections to the pardons.

Hutchinson denied 42 other clemency requests, while he took no action on nine others.
