LR woman wanted in battery arrested

A 19-year-old woman was arrested Monday after an unidentified person was struck in the head, causing traumatic brain injuries, the Pulaski County sheriff's office reported.

Samantha Baize of Little Rock surrendered Monday about 8:30 a.m. on an outstanding warrant for second-degree battery. According to an arrest report, Baize admitted to striking the person in the temple.

The victim's injuries resulted in a concussion and brain injury, the report states.

Baize was booked into Pulaski County jail, and her bail was set at $2,500. She remained on the jail's roster late Monday.

Police hold woman found naked in LR

Little Rock police arrested a woman found naked in the woods Sunday, according to an arrest report.

Police discovered 31-year-old Tabitha Barnwell of Little Rock in a wooded area near 7224 Arch St. about 7 a.m. According to the report, she had earlier injured a man during an argument.

Barnwell was arrested and booked into Pulaski County jail on charges of public intoxication and third-degree domestic battery. She was not listed on the jail's roster late Monday.

Boy in wheelchair left in heat alone

A Little Rock woman was arrested after leaving her young, wheelchair-bound son alone outside Monday, police said.

Little Rock police responded to 6201 Mabelvale Cutoff Road about 10 a.m. to a report of child abandonment. According to an arrest report, a 6-year-old boy told police his mother had left him at home to go to the store.

The boy had been outside in 90-degree temperatures for 20 to 25 minutes, police said.

The boy's mother, 26-year-old Domonique McBride, returned shortly after officers arrived, the report states. She was arrested and booked into Pulaski County jail on a charge of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

McBride remained on the jail's roster late Monday.

Woman arrested in church thefts

Police arrested a woman Monday accused of stealing electronics from a Little Rock church, according to an arrest report.

Alexis Leigh Stansberry, 20, confessed to going inside Korean Disciple Church of Arkansas, 600 Kirby Road, and taking a laptop and tablet, police said. The items were valued at approximately $1,000.

Stansberry was booked into Pulaski County jail on two counts of theft of property and two counts of commercial burglary.

Her bail was set at $41,500. She remained on the jail's roster late Monday.

Man, 61, reports hotel-room holdup

A Little Rock man was arrested Monday over accusations he robbed a man inside a hotel room with a semi-automatic handgun, police said.

Police responded to a robbery at Budget Inn, 5620 S. University Ave., about 9:15 a.m. There, Jerry Clay, 61, told officers that two women were leaving his hotel room when Andre Rodgers came inside with a black handgun and demanded all his money.

Clay identified 35-year-old Andre Rodgers of Little Rock in a photo spread, police said. Rodgers was arrested and booked into Pulaski County jail on charges of aggravated robbery and theft of property.

Rodgers remained on the jail's roster late Monday. His bail had not been set.

Ex-boyfriend held in break-in, threats

A North Little Rock woman returned home Sunday and found her kitten and her daughter's new school uniforms missing, according to police.

Officers responded to 2002 Crutcher Street in North Little Rock about 6:30 p.m. and found the woman's apartment had been "completely ransacked," a police report states.

The woman said she received several text messages from her ex-boyfriend, Keith Lamar Burns Jr., stating, "If you want ur daughter's uniforms ull come talk to me" and "see wat I did to ur cats." Police said Burns also sent a message threatening to kill the woman's mother.

Burns, 26, was arrested at 1700 N. Olive St. in North Little Rock. He was booked into Pulaski County jail on charges of burglary and first-degree terroristic threatening.

Burns remained on the jail's roster late Monday. His bail had not been set.

The police report did not disclose the fate of the kitten.

LR homeless man attacked in park

Little Rock police were investigating after a homeless man said he was beaten and robbed downtown Friday.

Officers responded shortly before midnight to the Arkansas Arts Center at 501 E. 9th St. Joseph Hopper, 31, said two men had approached him at nearby MacArthur Park and made fun of him, according to a police report. One of the men took Hopper's cellphone and punched him, according to the report. Hopper fell down and the man kicked him repeatedly.

Hopper said one of the men took his duffel bag and emptied it on the ground before the two walked away, the report states.

Officers noted that Hopper had several small cuts on his arms. He declined medical treatment at the scene.

Hopper said he'd seen his attacker at the Salvation Army the past two nights, according the report. The man is described as white, 5-foot-8, 200 pounds and between the ages of 35 and 40. He wore a sleeveless shirt and a red, black and white bandanna.
