The Hope Watermelon Festival, is the pride and joy of Hope, says Mark Keith, executive director of the Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce, Chris Heady writes in Thursday's Arkansas Weekend section.
“It’s just small-town America at its best,” Keith says about the event, taking place Thursday through Saturday.
Cave City’s Watermelon Festival, also taking place the same days, is the largest event of the year in Sharp County, says promotions coordinator Crystal Crow who expects almost 10,000 visitors to the town.
