Tupac Winston, 20, and Lamar Moore, 24, were found lying in the parking lot of NLR Corner Store before 5 p.m. Both men later died of their injuries at Little Rock hospitals.

Sgt. Brian Dedrick, North Little Rock police spokesman, said Monday night that investigators determined Winston and Moore shot each other. Police were not searching for additional suspects, he said.

Multiple people called police about shots being fired near West 18th Street and Pike Avenue at 4:54 p.m. Officers who were dealing with other situations near Pike Avenue responded to the scene within seconds and started treating Winston and Moore, Dedrick said.

About 5:30 p.m., dozens of onlookers stood just outside of the caution tape surrounding the store, and eight police vehicles blocked off the area.

Detectives placed evidence markers next to a trail of items surrounding a black Nissan Maxima. Among the items were two guns.

Dedrick said there were "numerous" witnesses to the shooting, which occurred during rush hour just off of a high-traffic street.

"It's concerning to us; 18th and Pike is a busy intersection," Dedrick said. "This is our most highly patrolled area in the city."

Investigators were trying to determine a motive late Monday.
