Chelsea Clinton will be the 1,000th speaker in the Clinton School of Public Service's popular lecture series, officials announced Wednesday.

The school said on Twitter that Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former President Bill Clinton and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, would speak Sept. 18 as part of a tour promoting her first book, It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going.

The book, due out Sept. 15, is said to include inspiring true stories and is aimed at young readers. The publisher, Penguin Random House, says Chelsea Clinton also writes in it about topics including poverty, homelessness, gender equality and climate change.

"In It's Your World, I try to explain what I think are some of the biggest challenges facing our world today, particularly for young people," Chelsea Clinton said in a statement. "I also explore some of the solutions to those challenges and share stories of inspiring kids and teenagers doing amazing work to help people and our planet have brighter and healthier futures. My hope is that the book will inspire readers to realize that they can start making a difference now, in their own way, for their family, their community, and our world."

The book tour will hit 19 other cities. It starts in New York on the day of the release. The Clinton School lecture begins at 6 p.m.

The school's lecture series started in 2004 with former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole, R-Kan., and has drawn a wide array of politicians, celebrities, authors, experts and more.
