LR police seeking gas-station bandit

Little Rock police are investigating the Thursday armed robbery of a gas station.

Officers responded about 2:35 a.m. to the Valero gas station at 10501 Stagecoach Road. An employee, Michael Davis, 40, said he was in the back of the business when a man approached him from behind and cocked a handgun, according to a police report. The man forced Davis to give him an unknown amount of cash from the register and fled.

No injuries were reported. Police searched the area after the robbery but made no arrests.

The robber was described as black, 5-foot-11, 170 pounds and between the ages of 21 and 26. He wore a black shirt, hat and pants.

Woman runs away in purloined shoes

A woman took a pair of shoes, put them on and fled from a downtown Little Rock business on Thursday, police reported.

Officers were called about 12:30 p.m. to Downtown Wigs at 305 Main Street. The store's owner, Song Birdsill, 56, said a a man had tried to distract her while a woman stole a pair of shoes worth $90, according to a police report. Birdsill grabbed the woman, but she pulled away and ran south.

The man fled in the same direction, the report says.

Officers viewed surveillance footage of the robbery and searched the area but made no arrests.

The woman was described as black, 5-foot-6, 140 pounds and between the ages of 25 and 30. She wore a pink hat, white T-shirt and red capri pants.

Garage pilfered; LR man charged

A Little Rock man was accused of taking lawn equipment, tools and camera equipment from a west Little Rock garage.

Crayton Stinson, 28, was accused of going into the garage at 57 White Oak Lane on July 29, Aug. 4 and Aug. 5 and stealing the items, police said. He was arrested Friday on three counts of residential burglary and three counts of theft of property.

He was booked into the Pulaski County jail where he remained Friday night.

Bank suspicious; woman arrested

Police arrested an Atlanta woman Friday after she withdrew thousands of dollars from a bank account that wasn't hers, according to an arrest report.

Sherry Johnson, 42, went to Iberiabank, 111 Center St., and withdrew $3,000. She returned a short time later and attempted to withdraw $4,008 -- both times using a Florida driver's license that had Johnson's photo but not her real name, according to the report. The bank realized Johnson was not who she said she was and called police, officers said.

Johnson was arrested on three counts of forgery and one count of theft of property and booked into the Pulaski County jail. She was on the jail's roster Friday night.
