LITTLE ROCK — U.S. Sen. John Boozman is touring Arkansas during the August recess this week to talk about agricultural issues.

The Republican lawmaker Monday said he's traveling the state as part of his fifth annual agricultural tour. Boozman is kicking off the tour Tuesday.

Boozman sits on the Senate Agriculture Committee and recently introduced legislation to give more flexibility to federal child nutrition programs, especially during summer feeding programs.

Boozman's tour will include stops at the Ag Council of Arkansas' breakfast in Marianna, the Grady Fish Fry and Wooster Elementary.

Boozman is a former congressman who was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010. He announced last year that he's seeking re-election, and no one has announced a bid to challenge him yet.
