Across Arkansas, nine counties have removed bans on outdoor burning that were in effect earlier this month. Rainfall on Wednesday across the state brought up to 1.5 inches of precipitation to portions of the state, according to the National Weather Service.

Nineteen Arkansas counties remain under burn bans, though the Arkansas Forestry Commission lifted several bans Thursday.

Counties where bans have recently been lifted are Bradley, Dallas, Faulkner, Howard, Miller, Ouachita, Perry, Polk and Sevier, according to the commission.

Ashley, Chicot, Clark, Cleveland, Columbia, Garland, Grant, Hempstead, Hot Spring, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lincoln, Little River, Montgomery, Nevada, Pike, Pulaski, Saline and Union counties remain under bans on outdoor burning.

The commission said most of central and south Arkansas remains at a moderate risk for wildfires as of Thursday.
