Passenger killed when car hits farm equipment

A 22-year-old Lexa man was killed Monday when the car he was riding in hit farm equipment attached to a tractor parked on a highway in Lee County, authorities said.

It happened about 5:15 p.m. on Arkansas 121 northwest of Marianna.

According to an Arkansas State Police report, 25-year-old Napoleon Price Jr. of Little Rock was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Prism west on the highway when he hit farm equipment attached to a parked John Deere tractor. Police said the tractor was on the shoulder, but the equipment extended into the road.

A passenger in the Prism, Demarcus Price, died at the scene.

Napoleon Price Jr. and the driver of the tractor, identified as 41-year-old Billy Woods Jr. of Poplar Grove, were uninjured.

Conditions at the time were reported to be clear and dry.
