FAYETTEVILLE -- Blake Johnson became the second Arkansas freshman football player in two days to get arrested when he was charged early Saturday morning by the University of Arkansas Police Department with public intoxication, minor in possession of alcohol and disorderly conduct.

Johnson, 18, was released on $630 bond from the Washington County Detention Center at 11:57 a.m. He faces an Oct. 2 hearing date on the charges.

Johnson, a freshman punter, was spotted urinating on a light pole in a corner of lot 40 on the UA campus at about 1:40 a.m., according to the UAPD arrest report. The officer noted a strong odor of intoxicants on Johnson, as well as bloodshot, watery eyes and slow, uncoordinated movements.

According to the report, when the officer asked where he had come from earlier that evening, Johnson replied "Riverside, California." The officer wrote that he asked Johnson the question again, asking where he had come from before urinating on the pole, and Johnson again said "Riverside, California."

The officer then made the arrest at 1:43 a.m. Johnson was booked into the Washington County Detention Center at 7:08 a.m.

Johnson's home address is in Long Beach, Calif.

Johnson's arrest came roughly 24 hours after freshman tight end C.J. O'Grady's arrest by Fayetteville Police for DWI after he was pulled over for driving a scooter without an operational tail light.

The Razorbacks football program went two years without a known arrest until defensive end Tevin Beanum was charged with DWI on Feb. 22. Four Arkansas football players have been arrested since Coach Bret Bielema's arrival Dec. 5, 2012.
