Auto-parts store worker shot in LR

An O'Reilly Auto Parts employee was shot in the thigh and knee Saturday night during a robbery in Little Rock, police said.

Sgt. Cassandra Davis, Little Rock police spokesman, said two employees were closing up the store at 5322 Asher Ave. when a man came in at 9:06 p.m. He robbed the business and shot the employee twice. Davis said the employee was transported to the hospital and his injuries are not life-threatening.

The suspect is described as a 25- to 26-year-old black man, about 5-foot-8 or 5-foot-9, wearing dark clothing, a gold necklace and a baseball cap. Davis said he fled in an unknown direction.

LR woman jailed, accused in knifing

Little Rock police arrested a 31-year-old woman Friday night after another woman told police she was stabbed repeatedly and deliberately, according to an arrest report.

Police arrived at 2800 Foxchase Road about 10:30 p.m. Friday and found a woman, who was not named in the report, cut on her nose, right wrist and back.

Police also found another woman, Kanesha Webster, with a bruise under her left eye after being struck by her ex-boyfriend, who was also not named in the report.

The ex-boyfriend, who witnessed the incident, told police that Webster had been stalking him for more than a year and that he struck her in self-defense, the report said.

Webster was arrested, charged with second-degree battery in connection with the unnamed woman's injuries, and taken to the Pulaski County jail, where she remained Saturday afternoon in lieu of a $2,861.11 bond related to a failure to appear out of Sherwood District Court in a hot check case. Jail records also indicated that Webster's probation was revoked and that she had a failure to comply charge related to a circuit court case.

Police say couple left toddlers alone

A North Little Rock couple is accused of leaving their children at home Friday night while they were trespassing in a former elementary school, according to arrest reports.

The reports say Malcolm Crawford, 22, and Shayla Carter, 23, left their 2-year-old and 3-year-old children at home and then went to Lynch Drive Elementary School, 5800 Alpha St., and entered the building, which triggered an alarm. North Little Rock police officers found the couple inside the building. Lynch Drive is no longer being used as an elementary school. The building, along with three other unused school buildings, was sold by the school district to Terra-Forma LLC in April.

Crawford and Carter were both arrested and transported to Pulaski County jail on charges of endangering the welfare of a minor in the first degree and criminal trespass. Carter was not listed on the jail's roster Saturday night. Crawford was still listed on the jail's roster Saturday night.

Man said to flash gun at Wal-Mart

A Jacksonville man was arrested Saturday afternoon after police said he brandished a handgun in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart after an altercation.

A woman told Jacksonville police that she was driving through the parking lot of the Wal-Mart, 2000 John Harden Dr., when she got into a verbal argument with a woman walking in the middle of the driveway. Following the argument, Phillip Dobbins, 24, who had been walking with the woman in the parking lot, went to his car and removed something. An arrest report said Dobbins then lifted up his shirt, showing a handgun in his front waistband and yelled at the woman in the car, "Do we have a problem? Do we have a problem?" The woman, who had her daughter and grandchildren in the car, drove away.

Dobbins was arrested by police on an aggravated assault charge and booked into Pulaski County jail. He was not on the jail's roster Saturday night.

Man tried to lure minor, police say

A Maumelle man was arrested Thursday after police said he solicited a minor he thought was 15 for sex.

An arrest report said Larry Wilder, 27, made arrangements to meet the minor at Two Rivers Park, but when he arrived he instead met an investigator from the Pulaski County sheriff's office.

Wilder was arrested and booked into the Pulaski County jail on a charge of Internet stalking of a child. He was still on the jail's roster Saturday afternoon.

NLR man accused of cigarette theft

A North Little Rock man accused of stealing $500 worth of cigarettes from a Dollar General in June was arrested Thursday.

Ronald Baker, 29, was arrested on commercial burglary and theft of property warrants. An arrest report said Baker is suspected of breaking into the Dollar General at 9125 Stagecoach Road on June 30 and stealing the cigarettes.

Baker was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster Saturday afternoon.
