State Democrats hire new executive director

The Democratic Party of Arkansas on Monday named a Montana official as its new executive director.

The party said in a statement that Ted Dick will succeed Candace Martin, who is moving to Ohio.

Dick is a former executive director of the Montana Democratic Party and the Olympia, Wash.-based Senate Democratic Campaign Committee, the statement said.

Democratic Party of Arkansas Chairman Vince Insalaco described him as having "extensive experience as a campaign manager for state and federal candidates."

"Ted is a skilled fundraiser, grassroots organizer, and we are thrilled he has agreed to come work with us,” Insalaco said in the statement.

Dick is set to begin work Sept. 8.

It was announced last month that Martin would leave her post. HL Moody, a spokesman for the state Democrats, said Martin has already transitioned out of the director role and is working now as a senior advisor.
