Two Arkansas State University football players and a former teammate were arrested early Tuesday morning on drug possession charges, according to a university police report.

The Craighead County sheriff's office says Tyler J. Trosin, 22, and Christopher Stone, 23, were booked into jail at 2 a.m. An online jail roster listed the charge as possession of less than 2 grams of methamphetamine or cocaine.

In a statement, ASU head coach Blake Anderson said the team was waiting for full details about what happened.

“We are aware of the unfortunate and disappointing incident that occurred this morning with Chris Stone and Tyler Trosin," he said. "We have notified their families, and we are in the process of gathering all the information. Once we have all the facts surrounding this incident, we will move forward accordingly.”

The report from university police says Jeremy Fulcher, 21, who is listed as a member of the 2013 team's practice squad, was the third passenger of a car police reported finding drugs in around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the report, police found a black Toyota parked on Longhorn Drive near the university's petting zoo. While approaching the car, an officer wrote in the report that he saw several open containers of alcohol and smelled marijuana.

The officer asked the three men to exit the car after Fulcher said he had a small amount of marijuana on him, according to the report.

During a search, the officer found a portion of a straw with white powder in Trosin's pocket, as well as white powder on driver's seat where Stone was sitting, the report said.

As the trio was booked and taken to Craighead County Detention Center, police found more baggies of drugs on each of the suspects, the report said.

Five baggies found on Fulcher contained a leafy green substance believed to be marijuana, according to the report, which said baggies found on Trosin and Stone field-tested positive for cocaine.

Trosin is a senior wide receiver while Stone is a redshirt senior defensive end for the Red Wolves.

Stone, a three-year starter for the team, was named a preseason first-team all-Sun Belt Conference selection. He has recorded 31 tackles, 7 1/2 for loss and 1 1/2 sacks while recovering 3 fumbles this season.

Trosin, who is playing his second year as a reserve wide receiver, has caught 8 passes for 113 yards this season.

The Red Wolves are set to play Louisiana Tech in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 19.
