Police on Thursday identified the man shot and killed Wednesday night in Little Rock's 29th homicide of the year.

Feron Whitley, 22, of North Little Rock was found dead in the driver seat of a vehicle on Valley Drive after officers were called about 5:17 p.m. to Autumn Park Apartments, 43 Warren Drive.

Investigators determined that the shooting occurred by building 10, near the back of the apartment complex, according to a police report released Thursday. Whitley then drove westbound on Valley Drive and crashed into two vehicles.

No suspect information has been released, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

It was the first homicide in Little Rock in December, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported. The last homicide in the capital city occurred Nov. 29 and had been the fourth for the city in less than a week.
