Shot at by robber, cabby tells police

A Little Rock taxi driver was shot at while fleeing an armed robber Tuesday, police reported.

Lumumba Hadley, 43, said he was dispatched about 8:10 p.m. to Beacon Hill Apartments at 1801 Reservoir Road, according to a police report. Hadley said he felt "uneasy" because the passenger had asked to be picked up outside the front gate of the apartment complex.

When Hadley arrived, a man quickly entered the cab, pulled out a handgun and demanded money, according to the report. Hadley ran, and the man fired at him multiple times.

Nothing was taken in the holdup, and no injuries were reported.

The robber is described as black, 6 feet tall and 220 pounds with long, braided hair. He wore a dark shirt, dark pants and dark coat.
