The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Tuesday that it is investigating the fire along with the FBI, Department of the Interior and the National Park Service, which owns the house and operates a museum on the site.

No arrests have been made, and ATF officials did not name a suspect.

The ATF offered a $5,000 reward and the National Parks Service offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest.

First responders reported smelling an accelerant on the scene after receiving a call reporting the fire was started by a passing driver on Friday morning.

Graffiti found on the scene depicted a smiley face with X's for eyes and the number "55," which police said refers to a way that some people communicate laughter in text messages.

While the home remains closed to repair the damage, the museum dedicated to the early life of the 42nd president was opened to the public Saturday.
