Women’s Welcome Club Luncheon

HOT SPRINGS — The Hot Springs Women’s Welcome Club business luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hot Springs Country Club. The speaker will be Mary Neilson, special events manager for Visit Hot Springs. Neilson will provide an overview of the planning process by the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance for the May 2015 Art Festival. Lunch reservations are required. Village Genealogical Society Meeting

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Hot Springs Village Genealogy Society will meet at 2 p.m. in Room 6 of the Coronado Community Center. The program will be Tracing Family Migration through the Big Four U.S. Record Sources. This DVD presentation was recorded by Mary E.V. Hill and aired on a Legacy Family Tree Webinar on Jan. 13. Hill is a national speaker who focuses on migration routes and patterns in the U.S. Handouts for the DVD presentation will be available, and all are welcome to attend. Watercolor Class

BENTON — A watercolor class for painters of all skill levels will meet at 6 p.m. at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library. The project will be Sunshine Garden, a pastel on brown paper. HOT SPRINGS — The Pocket Community Theatre will present Baggage at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Feb. 13 and 14; and at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 8 and 15. General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students through grade 12.

Writing Class

HOT SPRINGS — The Garland County Library Writer’s College will present a writing class, What Is Writer’s Voice, and How Do I Find Mine? from 1-3 p.m. The free class, taught by Sylvia Dickey Smith, will explore the role of voice in creative writing.
