Man offers ride, SUV stolen, police say

A Little Rock resident saw his roommate's sport utility vehicle stolen after he offered three men a ride late Thursday night, police say.

Arturo Jimenez, 22, said three men knocked on his apartment door in the 6400 block of Baseline Road in Little Rock and asked if he could jump-start their vehicle, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Jimenez offered the three men a ride in his roommate's vehicle, a blue 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer with the license plate 821 TGS, the report states.

Police said Jimenez dropped two of the men off at the Shell gas station on the corner of Asher and University avenues.

Jimenez told officers he drove a few more blocks when the remaining man pointed a black handgun at him and ordered Jimenez to pull over and get out of the vehicle, according to the report.

Jimenez said he wasn't sure which direction the man went after taking the vehicle, the report states.

The man is described as black, 5-foot-10, 25 to 30 years old and weighing 140 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket and blue Dickies pants.

The vehicle the three men were driving, a white 1991 Chevrolet Caprice with license plate 274 SHY, was towed to the city impound.
