A Little Rock man has been arrested in the Tuesday afternoon robbery of a Vietnamese restaurant, police said Wednesday.

Christopher Lawson, 25, entered Van Lang Cuisine, 3600 S. University Ave., about 4:40 p.m., ordered food, then handed an employee a note that said, “I have a gun put the money in the bag and dont hit the alarm dont kall the police,” according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

The employee told the would-be robber she had to go talk to her manager and get the money, but she instead stayed in the back of the restaurant, telephoned police and waited until officers arrived, the report states.

When police arrived, the would-be robber was gone, and nothing had been taken from the business.

Restaurant employees gave police a copy of Lawson’s receipt, which contained the last four digits of his credit card number; the note; and his description, according to the report. Officers circulating in the area of the restaurant found a man who fit the description and had a credit card matching the restaurant receipt, police said.

Lawson was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. He was being held at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $7,500 bond.
