Sherwood man dies after LR shooting

A Sherwood man died Thursday after he was shot in Little Rock on Wednesday night, police say.

A witness told officers he drove toward Goldstar Couriers & Logistics at 1900 W. 65th St. about 5:20 p.m. where he heard three gunshots and found Frank Steinsiek, 56, lying on his back in the parking lot, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Steinsiek was shot in his left side and in the head, the report states.

The witness said he saw a white Ford pickup hauling a utility trailer with a yellow motorcycle leave the parking lot as he drop up, according to the report.

The motorcycle, a yellow and black 2009 Yamaha R1 with Arkansas license plate YT716 and the vehicle identification number is JYARN23E09A004645, was stolen during the shooting, Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said in an email.

It also has Two Brothers Exhaust, Power Commander 5, LED lights and a dark windscreen.

Police searched the area and made no arrests, the report states.

Steinsiek was treated at the scene and transported to UAMS Medical Center, where he underwent surgery and later died, police said.
